Berdine van der Steen

After having completed her HBO BSc Biology and Medical Laboratory Research at the Hogeschool Inholland, in Alkmaar (NL), Berdine van der Steen started working as a research technician for MRC-Holland where she dealt with the development and testing of new MLPA products. After 1.5 years, she started her MSc in Biotechnology, with specialization in the Medical Biotechnology, at the University of Wageningen, The Netherlands. Berdine has now been working as a Research Technician for the Dept. of Othorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck surgery since 2010. Her current research is focused to improve diagnostics, prognostics and treatment strategies for patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer. Together with Martine De Herdt, she will be working in Riccardo’s lab as a research technician on the functional analysis of the MET receptor in close collaboration with the Dept. of Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery of the Erasmus MC.
